While I attended college at Florida Gulf Coast University in Estero, Florida, my friends and I would regularly go to Fort Myers Beach, where we would watch the waves roll into the sand and attempt to dull the anxiety about finals at the end of the semester. This painting was my attempt at capturing that serenity of escaping the focus and instead relaxing in absent-minded, banana boat-covered bliss.
