Is this a wild alligator hunt?
Yes! We specialize exclusively in Florida's public lands alligator hunt. Every alligator is free-range and harvested under Florida's Statewide Alligator Harvest. We do not conduct penned or enclosed alligator hunts.
Who Can book a hunt?
Anyone who has been issued an Alligator Trapping license, permit, and tags through Florida's Statewide Alligator Harvest Program is welcome to book a guided hunt. Family members and friends may also be accommodated, subject to vessel capacity and safety considerations.
Why should I hire a guide?
A guide helps maximize your chances of a successful and enjoyable hunt by providing expert legality knowledge, specialized equipment, safe boat operation, local insight, and assistance throughout the harvest process.
Booking and Permits
Do I need an alligator permit?
Yes. Florida's public alligator hunt requires a valid Statewide Alligator Trapping License. If you don't have one, we are happy to offer advice on how to apply for a permit or recommend other outfitters that operate sustainable private land hunts.
Can you help me apply for a permit and tags?
Absolutely! We offer a free Permit Application Guide and assistance form to help you maximize your chances of drawing a permit.
What if dont draw a permit?
If you don't draw a public land permit this year, we can help you improve your application strategy for future drawings. If you're looking to hunt sooner, we are also happy to recommend reputable fair-chase private land hunt opportunities in Florida.
How much is a guided hunt?
Our guided alligator hunts start at $1599 and include meat processing. Taxidermy and leather products are available as optional services.
Before your hunt
Where do we meet?
Your meeting location will be provided after your boking is confirmed and depends on your assigned permit area that you're awarded.
What should I bring?
- Valid Photo ID
- Alligator Harvest Permit and Tags
- Weather-Appropriate clothing
- Closed-toed shoes
- Drinks or snacks
- A Good Attitude :)
Can I Bring a Guest?
Yes! Additional guests may be accommodated depending on vessel capacity (total capacity including the captain is usually up to 3 adults, or up to 2 adults and 2 minors, not to exceed 4 people)
During the Hunt
Do I need boating or hunting experience?
No. Every trip begins with a complete safety breifing and equipment orientation. The captain will explain the proper use of all equipment before the trip begins.
Will I operate the boat?
No. All trips are captain operated.
Disclaimer: In the unlikely event that the captain becomes incapacitated, a passenger may operate the vessel if necessary to protect the safety of all persons on board or to reach a safe location.
What equipment is provided?
All required guide equipment is provided, including boating safety equipment and alligator hunting equipment. Passengers receive instruction before using any equipment.
Harvest & Processing
Do I keep my Alligator?
Yes. Your harvested and tagged alligator belongs to you, under Florida and Federal regulations.
Is meat processing included?
Yes! Standard meat processing is included with every guided alligator hunt.
Can you tan the hide or arrange taxidermy?
Yes. We offer hide preparation, alligator skin products, and can coordinate taxidermy services.
Safety
How is Safety Handled?
Every trip begins with a mandatory safety briefing covering life jackets, emergency equipment, vessel rules, and the proper use of hunting or fishing equipment.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Trips may be delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled if conditions are deemed unsafe by the captain's discretion. Safety always comes first.
Policies
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All participants must sign a liability waiver before boarding.
What is your cancellation policy?
A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your hunt date. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your scheduled hunt. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the hunt will receive a refund of any payments made beyond the deposit. Cancellations within 7 days of the hunt are generally non-refundable unless the date can be rebooked. Hunts Cancelled by the captain due to unsafe weather or unforeseen circumstances may be rescheduled or refunded at the captain's discretion.
